Genopsys Meets NIH Milestones

SOQUEL, California, February 17, 2005 - Genopsys, Inc., a genetic engineering company located in Soquel California, has announced that it has met requirements set by the National Institute of Health to move to the next phase in its grant funding relationship. In mid-2000, NIH funded Genopsys with a Phase I SBIR grant and this was followed up with a Phase II grant in August 2004. At the time of the Phase II funding certain operational criteria and developmental milestones were established that defined a transition in reporting requirements. "We are pleased to announce that we have successfully reached that transition point," says Eric Lietz, Ph.D., President and Founder of Genopsys. "We are pleased to have progressed in our relationship with the NIH and look forward to continuing to meet their reporting needs and exceed their scientific expectations," he adds. Dr. Lietz also expressed appreciation for both the financial support from NIH and the public validation of merit regarding technology that is associated with such grants. According to Dr. Lietz, "This funding will enable our staff to demonstrate the effectiveness of Genopsys technology in developing twenty-first century drugs."
