Larimore Cummins, M.D.
Interim CEO

Dr. Cummins has over 25 years of management experience in healthcare delivery and medical technology, including CEO of three successful early-phase med-tech startups. He has delivered top line growth and bottom line strength in a variety of settings. He has held executive management roles in a variety of healthcare technology companies ranging in size from startups to publicly traded small cap and multinational organizations.

Dr. Cummins was the founding CEO of GluMetrics, Inc., a developer of a continuous glucose monitor for the hospital ICU. He was also co-founder and CEO of Clinical Dynamics, Inc., a clinical outcomes software company that merged into Mecon, Inc. and into GE Medical Systems, a division of General Electric Corporation, where he served as Sr. VP and Chief Medical Officer of GE's Healthcare Solutions. He was also co-founder and founding CEO of Adaptive Clinical Solutions, Inc. (AdapCS) and has served as that company's board chairman and CEO of its intellectual property management subsidiary, Adaptive IP Solutions, LLC.

Dr. Cummins has also held executive management roles in hospital and healthcare systems. He served as Senior VP and Chief Medical Officer for Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, California . He also served as VP for Care Management at Catholic Healthcare West, a $4 Billion healthcare delivery system with 50 hospitals and several physician groups in three states.

Previously, Dr. Cummins practiced community-based gastroenterology. He is also trained in biochemistry and has published and provided consultative services in the areas of genetic engineering and clinical lasers.

 

Eric Lietz, M.S./PhD
President and Founder

Dr. Lietz is the primary inventor of Genopsys' portfolio of technologies and is a Research Fellow at the University of California, Santa Cruz where he directs research in the areas of nucleic acid technologies. Dr.Lietz has extensive experience in nucleic acid amplification technologies and diagnostics, with numerous scientific publications and issued patents in the field of random nucleic acid amplification and detection. Dr. Lietz received his MS and PhD degrees in biochemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He was the Vice-President of Operations for X-Sirius, Inc., a company that advanced sputum cytopathology for early cancer detection. Earlier, Dr. Lietz founded the North American subsidiary of Biffar GmBH. Dr. Lietz began his research at the University of Maryland, College Park. His early work involved genetic manipulations and biophysical characterization of adenylate cyclase, from Salmonella typhimurium. The native enzyme is 95 kDa. However, by tryptic digestion of the enzyme, it was discovered that a stable and more active 30 kDa domain could be isolated.  This work introduced Dr. Lietz to the concept that proteins could be 'optimized' by manipulation of their primary structure.

 

Christopher J. Murray, PhD
Research Director

Dr. Murray is responsible for the overall scientific direction of the company. Before joining Genopsys, Dr. Murray was a Group Leader of Targeting Technology at Genencor International Inc. for over 10 years, where he successfully led the development of new protein engineered products and technologies, and managed the technical development in strategic collaborations. He is the author of more than 35 publications and holds two U.S. patents with 15 additional patent applications pending. Dr. Murray was on the faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Arkansas for 5 years, following postdoctoral studies at Brandeis University and the University of California. Dr. Murray earned a PhD in physical organic chemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Roger B.Goff, Esq.
Corporate Counsel

Roger Goff graduated from UCLA with a degree in Communication Studies. Mr. Goff graduated from Loyola Law School with honors in 1987 and received American Jurisprudence awards for outstanding achievements in Contract Law, Mediation and Mental Disability Law.  He also served as Executive Editor of the Loyola International Law Journal, and was made a member of the prestigious Order of the Coif and the St.Thomas More Law Honor Society. During his final year at Loyola, Mr. Goff accepted a position at the law firm of Jeffer,Mangels,Butler & Marmaro, where he began his career as an attorney.  At Jeffer, Mangels, Mr. Goff worked in the corporate department handling a wide variety of transactions from $1 million to $100 million. His experience ranges from mergers and acquisitions to private securities offerings to more complex issues of corporate law. In 1989, Mr. Goff left Jeffer, Mangels to establish his own firm.  Since that time, Mr. Goff has handled a vast array of business and estate planning matters, as well as business law matters in the music industry, where he has spent several years handling transactions related to new technologies, management contracts, publishing deals, licensing issues and intellectual property matters.
